2025 Public Domain. January 1 is public domain day and 2025 includes the releasing of work by some modern artists, like matisse and frida kahlo, into the public domain. This means most original works enter the public domain on the first day of the 96th year after creation.

Works from 1929 are open to all, as are sound recordings from 1924! Public domain officially welcomes the comic debuts of popeye and buck rogers, alongside classic works by faulkner, hemingway, and landmark sound films.
